When you like to do some sports, you can write poems about them.
In the sports world, there are a lot of themes you can write.
You can write the type of sports, the players, the player’s activities, the place, the supporters, and so on.
The following poem is an example.
Bounce the Ball title
Bounce the ball,
Bounce the ball,
Up in the air we throw the ball, first stanza
If we do it rightly,
We hold the ball tightly.
Bounce the ball,
Bounce the ball,
Up in the air we throw the ball, second stanza
Holding the ball
Tightly.
Freda Parsons writer
This is a simple poem with some repetitions. The examples are on the first and second lines of the first and second stanzas “Bounce the ball”.
What sport does the writer want to describe?
If you like running, you can also write a simple poem like the one below
Running
Run, run, run, run,
Have a little fun
In and out the shadows
And in and out the sun
Ruth Large
The people’s hobby and enthusiasm about football can be seen in the poem below.
Football
Every body waits for the play
They want it night and day
No matter how much they pay
As it makes them happy
As far as foot can walk
Children – parents are fond of
On the road and square they match
Till the sun is red in west
Slamet Setiawan
Now, answer the following questions based on the poem ‘football’ above.
